((OOC: this occurred on my way back from the shore to the Duchy))
Lost in his thoughts , simply place one foot in front of the last, Vlad thinks of the kraken, the Farquestor and his comrades. The journey that had just survived and the peril to which they had faced left Vlad with little more than the energy required for his next meal. Thankfully this one would be a bit different, having learned the heal spell and being able to command the simpler act of the white light would mean that his next meal need not die, a welcomed change for the blood sucker.
"Vlad!", Yelled a voice which broke his mental monologue. "Vlad, son of Rurik of the house of Ungurth, stop! I have a message for you!!!" At this Vlad spun to meet the source of the voice, his pole drawn, his blood pumping and his heart immediately filled with hate, ready to make the unfortunate soul who had found him search for their head. But, before his blow fell he saw her, an old hag somehow familiar but yet unknown.."Stop there and state your business and name!!!", Vlad commanded. The woman stopped, fell to her knees in the path and began to speak," I am Florence, servant to the late Lord Rurik, I was your care taker when you were but a lad. I have come to fulfill the dying wish of my late lord." As she spoke Class heart softened, his grip relaxed and memories flooded him, she had raised him before he left his past life, before he learned of Rurik's tretchey and his true heritage. "Florence..."Vlad spoke," it has been ages, I did not recognize you, how far you have come from being a servant to Rurik. What is it that you have to say, but I warn you do not call that cur my father again." Florence began to tell Vlad of the happenings since he had left, the war, the way that Rurik had become all but destitute before he was hung for treason by the circle of nobles and how he had but one thing left and it was to be given to Vlad. As she finished the tale, she reached into a pouch a pulled out a beautiful gem stone, it was clear, it did not refract light but was as clear as crystal or diamonds, she handed it to Vlad, "this is all that remains of Rurik's treasure and he willed it to you." Vlad took the stone with a bit of distain, but if there was one thing that Alucard had taught it was to never turn away money, no matter the source.
After the exchange Florence bid Vlad a due for what would be the final time and they parted ways.
The rest of the way back to Crimson moon was walked in silence as Vlad used all of his will to force the memories of the the House of Ungurth from his mind.....
