((OOC: This happens right after the events of the quest last weekend.))
Ser Marduke the Hollow watched - disembodied - as the residents of Crimson Moon took the Glyphstone and the two gems, red and clear. If he had lungs he would chuckle. The easiest way for evil to beat good is to show itself and bait the hook. Good guys go out of their way - and out of their minds - to defeat an evil plan. To make sure, he waited until he saw the field vanish, then he reformed into his blackened armor, his hellish blade writhing back into reality from the hell of the Immaterium. He felt a presence behind him. Turning, Ser Marduke saw the Arch-Lich, Dark Priest of the Lying Darkness.
"You let them beat you, Ser Marduke?" The Arch-Lich smirked a little before verbally berating the visibly annoyed knight, "At least *I* was defeated by a Seraphite; you have no excuse! You let those whelps beat you!" Instantly the great daemon blade rested a fraction of an inch from the Arch-Lich's throat. Instinctively, the Arch-Lich's hands went up in surrender. Ser Marduke smirked in such a way that would freeze the blood of a mortal man.
"This is why wizards should attend their books and leave strategy to the real generals and soldiers. Sometimes, to advance a devastating piece up the board undetected, you have to visibly and publically sacrifice a strong piece. Question my descisions again and I'll line my horse's stable with your shinbones."
Glancing quickly at the blade, the Arch-Lich risked a chuckle. "A cunning deception. Congratulations, Ser." The blade returned to its master's side as Marduke scoffed.
"Of course it is."
The Arch-Lich looked at the closing energy barrier. "I take it the Pale got through, then?"
Ser Marduke nodded, "It, a special present just for the Paladin-Monk, and our declaration of war against the Duchy..."
