((well, not OUR world, but the world of my character. NOTE: this is not an RP. read and comment accordingly. Thanks.))
The Creation of Kamiya.
Tales of creation are very common in Kamiya. Each race has their own story of how the world came to be. This particular one was quite popular during the end of the First Age and throughout most of the Second Age. It is said that a scholar by the name of Strahl had a dream after eating the leaves of a plant said to produce nightmarish and strange hallucinations. The next day he wrote down as much as he could remember about that dream. No one is entirely sure how it became a tale of the creation of our world.
Long ago, there were the two god kings of creation, they always tried to outdo each other as if in some sort of quarrel. They were Ermarth (in some Kamiyan cultures known as Aermarth, in some known as Ermarth the White.) and Engart.(also called Engart the Black or Engart the Grey.) This particular battle between the two would prove to be their last and most famous. It started with Ermarth creating the sky and the heavens, and Engart, who wanted only to defoul Ermarths creations, creating the grounds. Ermarth added lakes, streams, oceans and lakes, and Engart forged the great mountains and volcanoes. Ermarth created sunlight and fair weather, while Engart created storms and nightime darkness. Ermarth had a few clever tricks up his sleeve, but bear in mind that Engart did so as well. Ermarth created man to dwell upon the earth, while Engart corrupted them and made them weak willed conquerers. Ermarth then created the Wood Elves, immortal and wise, also unable to be corrupted so easily like man. Engart created the Dark Elves, and swore they would always war against their fellow Elvekind and gave them the tools of magic, so that this may be accomplished easily. Ermarth then created what would be the master race, Sky Elves. He blessed them with divine intelligence. Althought the Sky Elves werent given magic, they were however given the knowledge to make great machines and medicines, as well as a floating island for which to live upon. In a fit of anger, Engart created the foul creatures of the earth, Trolls, Orcs, Goblins, Witches, Vampires, Lycans, and Dragons, in hopes that they would destroy Ermarths creations, but Ermarth blessed man and elf with the knowledge to make weapons so they may fight off these beasts of the earth. Engart, realizing that he had lost, tried to attack Ermarth. Legend has it that Ermarth banished Engart to live deep inside the earth, while Ermarth sat in the heavens, watching, waiting for Engart to make another move, all the while allowing his world to flourish or fail at its own accord, never for any circumstances intervening. The day will come when the two will meet in battle again, this time deciding the very fate of Kamiya.
